Maximum Control Over Your Stock, Maximum Flexibility, Rocket Fast Search and Image Processing.
Upixa puts contributors first, and gives them control.
For image buyers and anyone looking for online digital microstock, it's the fastest, leanest system for stock image search and purchase. Saving time out of your day and making your life easier with advanced features such as giving you a compact view of your lightbox and order basket at the same time as your microstock photo search results. And, following a purchase, Upixa will email all your purchases to you at a single click so you don't have to manually action the stock photo downloads and wait for them as with other systems.
For photographers, it's the next best thing to having your own personal picture library microstock photo image processing engine. All you need to do is supply the stock, upload your images via the web or FTP, set your prices, add keywords and descriptions for your photographs and we take care of everything else.
We designed and built all our stock image processing and handling systems from the ground up, simply to be the fastest microstock library available through being lean and built exactly to do this specific job. If you've used other stock image similar systems you'll be pleasantly surprised by the simplicity and speed of ours. With upixa you'll be able to find a stock image, buy it and complete the photo download process in two minutes or less.
We'll email your stock image purchases to you on one click. Unique in our industry, we have set up a system by where image buyers can have their stock image purchases emailed to them, one at a time in the case of multiple images (to prevent a single unwieldy email full of pictures, even when compressed JPEGs, being bounced by mail servers).
Upixa is a powerful image processing and storage engine for stock photography. Designed from the ground up to function as a highly automated image sales tool, Upixa empowers photographers and other creators of original stock photography and other digital artwork with a zero-overhead, easy-to-use, controllable, "on demand" microstock sales channel to showcase and market their work or monetize stock photos, illustrations or reportage from their archives.
Upixa is designed to appeal to microstock photographers or image libraries who perhaps would like to have the control that they would get from having their own dedicated stock photo library, but find the options on offer too complex, slow, restrictive, time-consuming or expensive.
The goal is to build bridges between image buyers (designers, publishers, the press, editors) and stock photo contributors (photographers and image agencies), while passing on the maximum amount of the image use fee to the creator or artist.
We particularly had in mind a "fire and forget" approach whereby stock photos for news, reportage, wildlife or other areas in which photographers may spend substantial time away from their studios can upload their latest photographic material directly from a laptop or any machine with a web browser direct to their Upixa account from anywhere in the world and make those microstock images available for sale within minutes or hours. With upixa image library, this vision becomes reality.
We believe that Upixa is the only stock photo image library which allows contributors to send (upload) their JPEG images by email.
We want to increase efficiency for photo image buyers, and increase financial returns for contributors, letting them focus on shooting beautiful stock rather than getting involved in the nuts and bolts of marketing and selling stock photography.
Our commission is among the lowest in the market place. That's possible because we have set up an almost 100% fully automated stock photo library system, and removed all the "waste" from traditional image processing processes of this type.
A vision for selling stock photography: Upixa stock images background and history
We believe that upixa is a massive step forward for image buyers and microstock contributors - anyone interested in selling stock photos.
We wrote upixa's engine from first principles to do a specific task, which adds to its security and efficiency as it does not depend on any third party or otherwise available resources which could cause a security risk or reliability issues. And, there is zero waste in the engine as it is totally dedicated to the purpose for which it was designed. For contributors, this means better security for your images and the intellectual property they represent. For buyers, this approach translates to increased reliability and a thoroughly focussed product dedicated to their needs.
In its current form the engine is able to contend with up to 80 billion images. Our current target is to reach 150 million images. Our goal is to become the world's largest royalty free stock image library. Currently our servers are equipped to handle billions of digital photographs (or other bitmap images) without requiring significant additional resources. Because of its built-in ability to be scaled almost to infinity, Upixa could, given adequate storage capability, contend with up to 18,000 trillion images. Whether you're a contributor or buyer, we want to give you the best possible service: this is key to our success. Upixa is globally scaleable and created to appeal to as wide a cross-section of browsers and user environments as possible.
Robbie is our fantastic and totally unique image processing robot.
Instructions for sending your stock photos by email
Ensure you send your images from the same email address you used to register (i.e. your username)
Robbie is always busy so will immediately throw away any images that he can not process: send only photos (or other stock artwork) as JPEGs (RGB) - this is usually the format that your digital camera or smartphone will use to take photos. Don't send TIFF, PSD, RAW, PNG, GIF or any other formats as these will simply be trashed on receipt.
Keep emails to a sensible size: if your stock photos are quite big, just send one image per email, or consider using FTP instead if you have a lot of larger size images
You can send multiple images per email, but do not exceed 20Mb total size.
Robbie may take from 15 minutes or up to several hours to process your images depending on his workload and he does need to take a tea break occasionally or catch up with the football. So please be patient. Robbie will send you an email to confirm success or failure for each picture file you submit.
If you re-send an image that Robbie has already processed, he will just scrub it.
